Alexander Calder

Alexander Calder was an influential American sculptor best known for his innovative contributions to kinetic art and his mobile sculptures. Born on July 22, 1898, Calder studied at the Stevens Institute of Technology and later at the Art Students League in New York. He gained fame for his unique ability to create art that moves, often using delicate metal structures and bright colors.

Throughout his career, he designed various posters for exhibitions, performances, and events. His poster designs often featured his signature style, incorporating bold colors and abstract forms. One notable example is his work for the 1939 World's Fair. Calder's graphic designs reflected his artistic vision and helped to popularize his mobile and stabile sculptures in a different medium.

Calder's work has had a lasting impact on modern art, influencing many artists and movements throughout the 20th century.
